Culture: For centuries the Oromo lived under a common political, economical and social system called the Gadaa system. It is an indigenous democratic system that governs every individual in the society from birth to death based on age system.

The Oromo people have a rich folklore, oral tradition, music and art. Although much of this culture and these traditions have survived harsh suppression, much has been lost.
